Chicago, Ill. – Roosevelt University Head Volleyball Coach Kelly Fitzgerald announced on Friday the signing of Lake Park High School graduate Emma Jarvis. The 5-foot-4 libero will join the Lakers for the upcoming 2012 season.
"As a dedicated student-athlete, I chose Roosevelt University because of its elevated commitment to preparing qualified well-rounded educators for the 21stcentury, as well as its up and up athletic program," said Jarvis. "I'm excited about pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, a teaching certificate in Special Education, and endorsements in Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language. I'm equally excited about being part of the rapidly growing volleyball program and announcing that I am officially a Roosevelt Laker!"
Jarvis was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Lake Park High School in Roselle, Ill., starting at the libero position her last three seasons with the Lancers. She received the Varsity Team Sportsmanship Award after her senior campaign. On the club volleyball circuit, Jarvis competed most recently for Team Illinois in 2011 and 2012.
Jarvis and the rest of the Roosevelt women's volleyball team will open the 2012 season on August 17 at the Cardinal Stritch Tri-Match.
