CHICAGO -The Roosevelt men's and women's basketball teams reach their regular season conclusion on Saturday, Feb. 22, and the Lakers want Roosevelt students and fans to Jam the Gym that day to celebrate the Roosevelt community and both teams' senior classes.

Roosevelt hosts a doubleheader against CCAC rival Robert Morris at the Lillian and Larry Goodman Center that day, with the Roosevelt women's team hosting the Eagles at 1 p.m. prior to the Roosevelt men's team taking on RMU at 3 p.m.

Postseason ramifications and bragging rights against the Congress Parkway neighbors are on the line, and Roosevelt is encouraging RU students, faculty, staff and alumni to Jam the Gym and make Feb. 22 a day to remember by filling the Goodman Center.

Admission to the games is free for all Roosevelt students, faculty and staff with a valid RU ID. Tickets for the general public are available at the door for $5.

Appreciation is the foundation of Jam the Gym, as Roosevelt wants to cap the regular season with a packed house, commemorative items and a fun time to show appreciation to RU students for their hard work and campus-wide support in 2013-14, as well as show gratitude to the student-athletes who wear the Roosevelt University name on their uniforms all year long.

Free Roosevelt Athletics Nike Dri-FIT T-shirts will be given away to the first 50 students in attendance at the women's game.

In between the men's and women's games, there will be a special food giveaway provided by the Dining Center to a select amount of students. More details will be made available as the day approaches.

At halftime of the men's basketball game, a different set of Roosevelt Dri-FIT t-shirts will be given to studentsfrom the Wabash Building floor with the most residents in attendance.

Both Roosevelt squads will celebrate their seniors prior to each game, with the 2012-13 defending CCAC champion Roosevelt women's basketball team conducting a fete for the decorated four-year class of Casey Davis, Maria Tamburrino, Tori Clark, Jennie Van Hook, Kiara Towles and Erin McCaslin. Later that day the Roosevelt men's basketball team will honor four-year student-athlete Mykyta Cheshko and fellow seniors Jason Sotira and Brett Hoffman, along with student assistant coach and former student-athlete Curtis O'Dwyer and four-year manager Jordan Piercefield

Other Roosevelt teams and Roosevelt organizations will also be recognized throughout the day.

Jam the Gym is an event produced by the Roosevelt University Street Team (RUST), comprised of the Center for Student Involvement, Student Affairs, Residence Life, Student Support Services/Project Prime, the Dining Center and Intercollegiate Athletics. The Roosevelt University Street Team seeks to strengthen Roosevelt community and pride through programming that brings Rooseveltians together.
