CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Roosevelt women's cross country team represented the Lakers at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede at Seminole Valley Park, hosted by Mount Mercy University, last Saturday.

With more than 200 runners on the course for the women's 5K, senior Alena Pacheco, junior Gina Narcisi, and junior Elie Donovan were among the top 100 finishers despite the crowded field.

Pacheco ran 19:35 for 33rd, Narcisi ran a clear vision time of 20:20 for 69th, and Donovan finished a few seconds behind her with a time of 20:51 for 97th.

Freshman Adeline Crocker and Brianna McCormick rounded out the top five for the Lakers as they finished with season-best times of 21:44 and 22:24, respectively. Fellow rookie Morgan Curry was not that far from McCormick and finished with a season-best time of 22:26.

Sophomore Jackie Fuller ran a season-best time as well, with her finish good for 22:39.

Isabelle Street rounded out the performance for the Lakers with a time of 29:49.

Roosevelt placed 19th out of 27 teams overall and bested CCAC members Cardinal Stritch University and Calumet College of St. Joseph in the process. University of St. Francis won the meet, with Indiana Tech taking the runner-up position.

Roosevelt will return to Channahon, Ill. for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on November 5th. Pacheco will seek her second straight trip to the NAIA National Cross Country Championships in the process.
