Women's Cross Country - Fri, Nov. 18, 2016

CHICAGO - Roosevelt University senior Alena Pacheco and junior Jessica Fuller were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes, the NAIA announced on Friday. 

Pacheco garnered the honor for the second consecutive cross country season and for the third time in her career when counting track and field. 

Fuller earned the award for the first time in her career in her first year of eligibility for nomination.  

Pacheco and Fuller were two of just 335 women's cross country student-athletes across the United States and Canada to receive the award this season.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director per the NAIA, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
