NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Roosevelt track team made an appearance at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships over the weekend at North Central College on Friday and Saturday.
Across the competition, over 1,200 athletes were in action to make it one of the largest meets Roosevelt has competed in this season.
Gina Narcisi took to the track for the 5,000-meter run in preparation for her marathon training in hopes of making it to the national field. She finished the 25-lap adventure in 20:58.12, finishing ninth in her heat.
Jackie Fuller took part in the mile run, finishing in 5:58.46, good for a season personal best. She also took part in the 1000m by finishing with a 3:42.89, good for a sixth-place heat finish.
Addie Crocker was the top 400m runner for the Lakers, as she finished with a 1:04.96, good for a second-place heat finish. Beverly Daza was right after Crocker and finished in 1:07.66 for a thid-place heat finish. Imani Fountain finished in 1:10.85, good for a fifth-place heat finish. The trio also competed in the 200-meter dash as well. Crocker finished with a 29.71, Daza with a 30.12, and Fountain with a 31.79.
Jessica Fuller took part in the 800m run, and she completed the four-lap race with a 2:43.47, good for an eighth-place heat finish.
The Lakers will be completing their last week of indoor competition by going to the inaugural CCAC Indoor Championships at Olivet Nazarene University next week.
