NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Roosevelt track team competed at the Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College this past Wednesday and Thursday to conclude the 2017 outdoor campaign and the collegiate careers of seniors that recently graduated from Roosevelt University.

Alena Pacheco led the Roosevelt's women's track team one last time in the 1500M run. Pacheco finished as the top-finishing Laker with a second-place heat finish and season-best time of 5:06.57. She ran with Jackie Fuller, Elie Donovan, and Brianna McCormick. They finished with times of 5:29.62, 5:36.84, and 6:00.14 ,respectively.

Wuraola Sosina led the Lakers in the 400M dash with Jessica Fuller and Imani Fountain. Sosina finished with a time of 1:03.54. Fuller finished with a time of 1:04.37, and Fountain finished with a season-best time of 1:08.75.

Fountain also competed in the 200M dash and finished with a time of 32.10.

The squad of Sosina, Jessica Moriarty, Jessica Fuller, and Jackie Fuller competed in the 4x400M relay. That quartet finished with a time of 4:15.44.

Pacheco is the first four-year student-athlete for Roosevelt's women's cross country and track program. She currently holds a plethora of outdoor records. She set school-best times in the 800M, 1000M, 1500M, 3000M and 5000M runs, and she is part of the record-setting 4x800M relay squad. Pacheco is also the first female runner in Roosevelt history to qualify for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships, achieving the feat in 2015. She graduated with honors and earned a degree in history from Roosevelt just two weeks ago, and she will be working in education in Washington, D.C.
