BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Roosevelt cross country teams made their second appearance at the Midwest Classic, hosted by Olivet Nazarene University at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course on Friday, right after the Tiger Intercollegiate Tournament that the Roosevelt men's golf team competed in earlier in the day. 

Brianna McCormick continued to lead the ladies in the 5K during the early portion of 2017. She completed the 3.1-mile adventure with a time of 22:05.06, finishing 21st overall and 16th in the NAIA field.

Jackie Fuller completed the course with a time of 23:12.71, finishing 31st overall and 24th in the NAIA division.

Senior Wuraola Sosina finished 40th overall and 28th among NAIA runners with a time of 24:03.32.

Senior Jessica Fuller rounded out the Lakers' performance with a time of 24:54.49, good for 45th overall and 32nd amidst NAIA competition.

Saint Xavier University won the event team title, with Olivet Nazarene taking second at its home invitational.

The Lakers will head to the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College on September 16th. They will be back at Aspen Ridge Golf Course for the Midwest Intercollegiate Championships on September 29th.
