Chicago, Ill. - Roosevelt Head Volleyball Coach
Kelly Fitzgerald continues to add depth and talent to her 2012 recruiting class, announcing on Friday the signing of Lincoln Park, Mich., native Natasha Hampton.
Hampton, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker/right side, will graduate this spring from Lincoln Park High School where she was a standout performer for the Railsplitters volleyball team. Hampton's play earned her All-Downriver League honors in 2011 and All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition after her 2010 junior campaign. She played on the club volleyball circuit for Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy.
"I chose Roosevelt because I'm looking forward to making an immediate in impact here at the school as well as on the volleyball team," said Hampton. "It has always been my dream to live in a big city and play collegiate volleyball, and Roosevelt makes it possible for me to do both."
Hampton is just as decorated for achievements outside of the playing arena. She serves as the class President at Lincoln Park High School, is an honor roll student, and is a member of the National Honors Society.
Hampton joins Alexis Mason (Bartlett High School) and Morgan Reinert (Bolingbrook HS) as newcomers for the Lakers in 2012. Roosevelt will begin its second season of competition this August.
