Chicago, Ill. - Roosevelt University Head Men's Soccer Coach
Graham Brennan added a decorated prep midfielder to his 2012 roster on Monday announcing the signing of Niles West High School standout Lane Mita.
Mita captained the Wolves in 2011 and went on to earn All-Central Suburban League, Illinois High School Soccer Coach Association All-Sectional and team MVP honors. As a junior, Mita helped Niles West to a CSL North Division title. Mita won U-17 Illinois State Cup in 2011 as a member of the Chicago Fire Juniors program.
"Having coached lane at a younger age, I was extremely pleased to see his development over the years when we reconnected last fall," said Brennan."Lane is an extremely hard working midfielder that has a knack of scoring big goals. Lane always gives a total effort and has a strong desire to be a winner. Lane will be a leader in the RU soccer program both on and off the field."
The Roosevelt men's soccer team will take the pitch for the first time in 24 years this August, competing as members of the NAIA and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). The Lakers open the season on August 23 at home versus Arizona Christian.
