Chicago, Ill. - Roosevelt University Head Men's Basketball Coach Joe Griffin made the first addition to his 2012-13 roster on Thursday, announcing the signing of Sinclair Community College sharp-shooter Aaron Valerio.

"Aaron will provide much-needed depth in the backcourt since we graduated three guards this year," said Griffin. "He will compete for minutes at the two-guard spot and is a shooting threat with three-point range. We are happy to have Aaron join our program."

A 6-foot guard, Valerio helped the Pride to an 18-13 ledger last season, averaging 5.3 points per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range (45-for-116). He also tallied 1.3 assists per outing. Valerio enjoyed a career night versus West Virginia University-Parkersburg, splashing in nine three-pointers on Feb. 27 in a 128-59 Sinclair victory.

The Roosevelt men's basketball team will open its 2012-13 season on November 3 at Marygrove.
