Chicago, Ill. - Roosevelt University Head Women's Soccer Coach Shaun Kohn recently announced the signing of four incoming freshmen for the 2012 season. Samantha Anderson from Rockford, Mich., Maeve Crowley-Waack from Madison, Wis., Rachel Doriean from Bay City, Mich., and Sydney Self from Edmond, Okla. all signed letters of intent to join the Lakers for the program's first season.
"Our program is very fortunate to add these four tremendous student-athletes," Kohn said. "I am looking forward to working with them and especially looking forward to watching them compete once we have our team together in August."
 
Anderson, who will graduate this spring from Rockford High School, in Rockford, Mich., is a two-year member of the Rockford High varsity soccer team. In cross country, she has earned All-Conference, All District, All Region honors for two years. An Athlete of the Month for Rockford High, Anderson was also a four-year Athletic/ Academic letter winner.
 
Anderson was most recently a member of the Michigan Hawks Soccer Club. She also played for the West Michigan Fire (U15/U16-Premier) and the Soccer Club of Rockford.
 
Crowley-Waack, who will graduate from East Madison High School, in Madison, Wis., has been a four-year starter for the varsity side. She was named to the All-Conference Team in 2010. For her club ball, Crowley-Waack has played for the MYSC Rush for seven years, including five years at State Level Premier and two years in the Midwest Regional League (MRL). In the MRL her club team finished in second place in 2011. Also in 2011 the team was a Wisconsin State Cup finalist. In 2010 Crowley-Waack's club team was the St. Louis Scott Gallagher College Showcase champion in 2010 and a finalist in 2010 in the Orange Classic College Showcase.
 
Doriean, a National Honors Society member who has made the honor roll each year in high school, has earned various honors as a four-year member of the varsity soccer team at Bay City High School, including team MVP, First-Team All-Valley, Dream Team, and All-Academic team. Her senior season she was named team captain at Bay City. She has earned multiple varsity letters through sports, academics and various other extracurricular activities.
 
Doriean has played for the Bay Area Soccer Association since the age of four, at the recreational, majors, and travel levels.
 
Self, who will graduate from Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Okla., has been a member of varsity for three years, and was named captain of the squad her senior year. Edmond High won the Putnam City North Tournament championship this season, and Self was named an All-Tournament performer. Additionally, Edmond High won its District title this season, before falling in the semifinals of the state tournament.
 
For her club ball, Self has played for the Oklahoma Football Club 94 white team for the last five years, and Genesis club the prior three years. For OFC 94 white, Self was a captain for three years for a side that won the 2011 President's Cup.
 
The Roosevelt women's soccer team will make its debut on August 22 at Mount Mercy University.
