Chicago, Ill. -
Roosevelt University Head Men's Golf Coach Marty Scherr
announced on Thursday the addition of the fourth student-athlete to his inaugural 2012-13 squad with Aaron Wheeler joining the Lakers after two years at Kirtland Community College in Grayling, Mich.
Wheeler will be reunited with former Kirtland teammate Jeremy Scott, who signed with Roosevelt back in April. Both played for the Firebirds under head coach Chris Zuiker.
"Aaron has a lot of ability and the potential to post some low scores" says Coach Scherr. "He is competitive and driven to gain the consistency needed for our team to be successful this year. Aaron is a terrific addition to our team and I expect him to keep getting better and better."
Wheeler, a native of Chesterfield, Mich., was the team captain of his prep side at L'Anse Cruse High School prior to his tenure at Kirtland.
Wheeler and Scott join incoming freshmen Kyle Martens (West Chicago, Ill.) and Trevor Berry (Marion, Iowa) on the 2012-13 roster with the Lakers opening play this fall.
