Chicago, Ill. – Roosevelt Head Cross Country and Track Coach Kevin Licht added a pair of junior college standouts to his roster for the 2012-13 campaign, announcing on Saturday the commitment of Cande Pizano and Tiffany Matthews.

Pizano was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national cross country qualifier at Moraine Valley College in Palos Hills, Ill. She owns a personal-best time in the 5K of 21.23.

"Cande is a great addition to the team," said Licht. "She has a great deal of national level experience that will be a significant benefit to the team."

Matthews, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., was a three-time NJCAA All-American at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. She boasts a 5K personal best of 19.08.

"I'm very excited for Tiffany to join us at Roosevelt," said Licht. "Tiffany has been very successful at the NJCAA level, and I look forward to coaching her to even greater success at the NAIA level. "

The Roosevelt cross country team begins its 2012 campaign on Sept. 8 at the UW-Parkside Midwest Open.
