Aurora, Ill. – The Roosevelt volleyball team ran its program-best winning streak to five matches and finished the Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament hosted by Aurora University a perfect 4-0 after outlasting Lake Forest College in a five-set thriller, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 15-11, before sweeping Principia, 25-21, 25-14, 25-20 on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Vanessa Owusu totaled double-digits in kills in both matches with 15 and 10, respectively. Freshman Tori Schrementi tallied 10 kills in the win over Lake Forest College, while Morgan Reinert chipped in with 12 assists and five aces against Principia.

The Lakers are now 8-4 on the season, running four games above .500 for the first time in program history. Roosevelt was one of two teams to finish 4-0 at the Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament, joining North Central College.

Roosevelt will return to the court on Tuesday with a CCAC match at Cardinal Stritch.
