Joliet, Ill. – Freshman Trevor Berry shot a 4-over 75 to lead the Roosevelt men's golf team to a seventh-place team finish in the 19-team field on Tuesday afternoon at the St. Francis (Ill.) Fall Classic at Inwood Golf Club.
The Lakers finished with a team stroke total of 316, tying them with fellow Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference member Calumet-St. Joseph. Roosevelt bested five other CCAC foes at the event with only host St. Francis (Ill.), which won the event with a team score of 293 (+9), finishing ahead of the Lakers.
Berry tied his collegiate-best round of 75 on Tuesday, placing 10th at the event that featured 99 golfers. Freshman Kyle Martens carded the best round of his young career, tallying an 8-over 79. Junior Jeremy Scott was one stroke behind Martens at +9 (80). Junior Aaron Wheeler posted an 82, while freshman Evan Krohn tallied an 85.
