Bridgeview, Ill. – Playing its first regular season match on its home pitch, the Roosevelt women's soccer team lost to Calumet-St. Joseph, 2-0, on Friday afternoon in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both schools.

After the two sides played a scoreless opening half, the Lakers (2-4, 0-1) controlled possession for the first 15 minutes of the second stanza. A counter by the Crimson Wave (3-5, 1-0) in the 65th minute quickly changed momentum with Patty Diaz taking a pass Sandra Narvaez and beating Roosevelt Sydney Self for the game's first goal.

In the 76th minute Calumet-St. Joseph added another tally with Cory Vega tabbing the goal for the Crimson Wave.

The Lakers will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 26 when they host #11 Olivet Nazarene at Toyota Park at 4:00 p.m.
