Bridgeview, Ill. – The Roosevelt men's soccer team could not derail a red hot Holy Cross side on Saturday as the visiting Saints ran their winning streak to four with a 2-0 triumph over the Lakers at Toyota Park.

Holy Cross improved to 7-4 overall on the season and 4-1 in the CCAC, while Roosevelt slipped to 1-8-3, 0-5 in league action.

Eduardo Berruezo put the Saints on the board in the 16th minute with his first goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 until the 60th minute when Connor Simpson netted an insurance tally for Holy Cross.

Roosevelt charged forward in the second half to try and get back in the game. Nine of the Lakers' 10 shots came in the final 45 minutes, but Roosevelt couldn't push one past Saints keeper Victor Navarro.

The Lakers will try for their first CCAC win of the season on Tuesday when they travel to Palos Heights, Ill., to take on Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m.
