Palos Heights, Ill. – Trinity Christian freshman Jordi Rubio scored three goals, including a pair of back-breaking tallies early in the second half, to propel the Trolls to a 7-0 victory over the visiting Roosevelt men's soccer team on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lakers fell to 1-9-3 overall and 0-6 in the CCAC with the loss, while Trinity Christian levels its record at 6-6 and 3-3 in league play.

Rubio put Trinity Christian ahead early with a goal in the 24th minute on an assist from Caleb Steele. The score would remain 1-0 through halftime, but in the 50th minute the tandem of Steele and Rubio connected, once again, to give the Trolls a 2-0 advantage. Twenty minutes later Rubio completed the natural hat trick, sending home an assist from Emmanuel Yanquaye that staked the home side to a 3-0 lead.

Trinity Chrisitan would score four more goals in an eight-minute stretch late in the second half for the final 7-0 margin.

The Trolls outshot the Lakers, 24-9, with Roosevelt keeper Jose Ortiz making 11 saves. The Lakers put three of their nine shots on frame with Nate VanderWoude stopping all three attempts for Trinity Christian.

Roosevelt will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Deerfield, Ill., to take on Trinity International at 2:00 p.m.
