Palos Heights, Ill. – Trinity Christian scored three goals in the opening 10 minutes of its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup with the visiting Roosevelt women's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon and carried that momentum to an eventual 5-0 victory over the Lakers.
The loss dropped Roosevelt to 2-8-1 on the season and 0-5-1 in the CCAC. Trinity Christian leveled its record at 6-6-1 and 3-3 in the league following the victory.
The Trolls wasted little time getting on the scoreboard on Wednesday when Naomi Kolhoff found the back of the net just 1:37 into the match. Kolhoff put Trinity Christian in front 2-0 in the 9th minute, putting home a pass from Rachel Webb. A minute later the Trolls struck, once again, with KC Roller scoring a goal to stake the home side to a 3-0 advantage.
Trinity Christian added two more goals in the second half for the final 5-0 margin.
The Lakers will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Deerfield, Ill., to take on nationally-ranked Trinity International. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
