Silvis, Ill. – The Roosevelt men's golf team sits in 16th place in the 18-team field following Monday's opening round of play at the NAIA Midwest Invitational at TPC Deere Run.

For the first time this season the Lakers failed to card a sub-80 round as junior Jeremy Scott and freshman Evan Krohn shot 82 (+11) for the team's lowest scores. Freshman Trevor Berry (84) and junior Aaron Wheeler (86) posted Roosevelt's other two scoring rounds.

Roosevelt totaled a team score of 334 and sits just one stroke behind CCAC foe Olivet Nazarene. Ashford leads the event after totaling an opening round score of 292.

The tournament's final round takes place on Tuesday with the event the finale of the fall season for the Lakers.
