Grand Rapids, Mich. – Rookie Edith Samano paced the Roosevelt women's cross country team in its final tune-up before the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Championships, posting her side's top finish at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday.

Samano navigated the 5K course in a time of 23:32.31. Teammate Amber Snearl finished with a time of 25:58.72

The Lakers will be back in action on Nov. 3 at the CCAC Championships in Channahon, Ill.
