
Milwaukee, Wis. – The Roosevelt women's soccer team was shutout at Cardinal Stritch on Wednesday night as the host Wolves posted a 2-0 victory over the Lakers at Uihlein Soccer Park.
Roosevelt (2-12-1, 0-9-1) was limited to just one shot in the contest, while Cardinal Stritch (3-13-0, 2-8-0) totaled 12 shots, putting eight on frame.
The Wolves scratched the scoreboard in the 25th minute on a goal by Brittney Brown. Brown's initial scoring attempt was saved by Lakers keeper Sydney Self, but she was unable to secure the ball and Brown netted the rebound. The score remained 1-0 until the second half when Kara Casebolt added an insurance tally for Cardinal Stritch in the 57th minute.
Roosevelt will conclude its inaugural 2012 season on Saturday with a trip to Joliet, Ill., to take on St. Francis (Ill.) at 5:00 p.m.
