Chicago, Ill. - The Roosevelt women's basketball team will lift the lid off of the 2012-13 season this Thursday, Nov. 1 when the Lakers travel to Clinton, Iowa to face Ashford University. 

The game between the Lakers and the Saints tips off at 7 p.m.

Head coach Robyn Scherr-Wells returns nine players from last year's squad, including a trio of All-CCAC selections in junior guard Casey Davis (team-best 16.2 PPG), junior forward Maria Tamburrino (9.8 ppg, team-leading 7.5 rpg) and junior forward Kiara Towles (11.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg). Scherr-Wells will also add five freshmen to the mix.

The Lakers will return home after Thursday's contest at Ashford to host Clarke University this Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. inside the UIC Physical Education, located at 901 W. Roosevelt Road.
