Chicago, Ill. - The Roosevelt men's basketball team begins the 2012-13 season this Thursday, Nov. 1 by heading to Motown to face Marygrove beginning at 7 p.m. Central.

Joe Griffin begins his third season at the helm of the Lakers with seven letterwinners returning from last year's squad, including All-CCAC forward Brandyn Denson (8.5 ppg, team-high 8.0 rpg).

Griffin and his staff will also welcome five newcomers, including Jeremiah Jackson, a transfer from Northern Illinois who played his prep ball locally at both Warren and Simeon. Junior college sharpshooter Aaron Valerio and Argo product Tamone Littlefield are also among the new Lakers for the upcoming campaign.

Following the Marygrove contest, Roosevelt will head to Kalamazoo for an exhibition battle against Western Michigan inside University Arena on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. Central. Live video of the game will be availble here.
